Roasted Masala Fish Fry - sanaa's recipe
  1. 1 Cup = 200ml
Ingredients
  1. King fish - ½ kg
  2. Dried red chili - 3
  3. Coriander seeds – 1 tsp
  4. Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
  5. Whole black pepper – 2 tsp
  6. Red chili powder – 1 ½ tsp
  7. Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  8. Lemon juice – 1 tsp
  9. Rice flour – 1 tbsp
  10. Oil – ¼ cup
  11. Salt – to taste
Method
  1. Dry roast dried red chili, coriander seeds, cumin seeds and whole black pepper for a minute or 2 over low flame and grind it to a powder.
  2. In a bowl, combine together red chili powder, turmeric powder, lemon juice, salt and the ground spice powder with 1 or 2 tbsp water to make a smooth thick paste. Marinate the cleaned fish in this spice masala for about half an hour. Sprinkle the rice flour over the marinated fish.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and fry the marinated fish over medium flame, till done. Serve hot with rice.
