Masala Fish Fry

- 1 Cup = 200ml
Ingredients
- King fish – 4 big pieces
- Red chili powder – 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Lemon juice – 2 tsp
- Curry leaves – 6 - 8
- Onion – 1 (chopped)
- Ginger – a small piece
- Garlic – 3 cloves
- Whole black pepper – 1 tsp
- Coriander seeds – ¾ tsp
- Fennel seeds – ¼ tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Oil – 3 – 4 tbsp ( for frying)
Method
- Marinate the cleaned fish pieces with red chili powder, turmeric powder, lemon juice, curry leaves and salt for about 15 minutes.
- Meantime, grind together onion, ginger, garlic, whole black pepper, coriander seeds and fennel seeds (add 1 tbsp water if required). Coat the marinated fish pieces with the ground mixture and keep it aside for an hour.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the fish pieces, turning the sides occasionally, till done over medium flame. Serve hot.
