Sweet and Spicy Chicken Wings

Sweet and Spicy Chicken Wings - sanaa's recipe
  1. 1 Cup = 200ml
For the marinade
  1. Chicken wings – 10
  2. Crushed ginger garlic – 1 tbsp
  3. Black pepper (freshly ground) – 1 tsp
  4. Soya sauce – 1 ½ tsp
  5. Salt – to taste
  6. Oil – ¼ cup
  1. Marinate the cleaned chicken wings with all the above ingredients above except oil. Keep it covered in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and fry the marinated chicken wings till it is cooked and turns golden colour. Remove the chicken wings from the pan and keep it aside (reserve the remaining oil in the pan for preparing the sauce).
  1. Garlic (finely sliced) – 2 tsp
  2. Green chilies – 3 (finely chopped)
  3. Soya sauce – 1 tsp
  4. Red chili sauce/ hot sauce – 1 tbsp
  5. Tomato ketchup – 1 tbsp
  6. Orange juice (freshly squeezed) – ½ cup
  7. Corn flour – 1 tsp
  8. Black pepper (freshly ground) – 1 ½ - 2 tsp
  9. Spring onion – 2 tbsp
  10. Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp
  11. Salt – to taste
  12. Oil – 1 tbsp (if required)
  1. Heat the pan with oil (in the pan which the chicken wings are fried, add 1 tbsp oil if required), add sliced garlic and green chili and saute for a minute. Add soya sauce, red chili sauce and tomato ketchup to this and combine well. Cook for a minute.
  2. Combine corn flour in the orange juice and add it to the sauce mixture stirring continuously. Cook till thick. Add black pepper and spring onion and very little salt (the sauces already contain salt) and combine well.
  3. Add the fried chicken wings to this and combine evenly. Top it with coriander leaves and remove from flame. Serve hot.
