Bread Chicken Cake/ Bread Chicken Pola - sanaa's recipe
  1. 1 Cup = 200ml
For the chicken filling
  1. Boneless chicken (cooked adding 1 tsp pepper and enough salt) – ¾ cup
  2. Onion - 2 (sliced)
  3. Green chili - 3 (chopped)
  4. Crushed ginger - garlic – 1 tsp
  5. Red chili powder – ½ tsp
  6. Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
  7. Garam masala powder – ¼ tsp (optional)
  8. Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp
  9. Salt - to taste
  10. Oil - 2 tbsp
  1. Heat oil in a pan, add sliced onion, green chili and enough salt and saute on medium flame till soft. To this add crushed ginger - garlic and saute till the raw smell disappears.
  2. Add red chili powder and turmeric powder to this and saute till the raw smell disappears. Add the shredded chicken and coriander leaves to this, mix well and cook for another 2 - 3 minutes and remove from flame. Keep it aside.
For the batter
  1. Bread slices – 5 (remove he sides)
  2. Egg – 3
  3. Milk – 1 cup
  4. Red chili powder – ½ tsp
  5. Pepper powder – a pinch
  6. Salt – to taste
  7. Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp (finely chopped)
  8. Clarified butter/ ghee – 1 tsp
  1. Cut the bread slices to pieces and blend it with egg, milk, red chili powder, pepper powder and little salt.
  2. Heat a non stick deep pan over very low flame and add clarified butter (ghee) to this. Pour three fourth of the blend mixture to this and cook it covered for about 5 – 6 minutes.
  3. Top it with the prepared chicken filling all over. Pour the remaining bread – egg mixture over this and sprinkle the finely chopped coriander leaves all over. Cook it covered for about 15 – 18 minutes over very low flame.
  4. Heat another nonstick pan and upside down the prepared chicken bread cake to the hot pan, cook for another 2 – 3 minutes over low flame. Remove from flame and serve hot.
