Homemade Strawberry Jam - sanaa's recipe
  1. 1 Cup = 200ml
  1. Strawberries – ½ kg (cleaned and thinly sliced)
  2. Sugar – 1 cup – 1 ¼ cup sugar (as per your taste)
  3. Lemon juice – 1 ½ tbsp
  1. Heat the sliced strawberries in a sauce pan. Add sugar and lemon juice and cook over high flame stirring continuously, for about 10 – 12 minutes. Reduce the flame and mash the strawberries lightly.
  2. Cook for another 5 -8 minutes, till it is little thick (more or less till the mixture reaches the right consistency). Remove from flame and let it cool completely at room temperature. Move it to a clean and dry glass jar and cover it. Cool and serve.

Note : Check the consistency, while cooking, by dropping little jam in a cooled plate, if do not run out easily, it is done. If it runs out easily, cook for few more minutes stirring continuously. Makes about 200 ml of jam.
