Matar Mushroom Masala

- 1 Cup = 200ml
Ingredients
- Mushroom - 2 cup, sliced
- Green peas - 1 cup (soak it over night and cook it till done)
- Cinnamon - 1 small piece
- Cardamom - 2
- Cumin seeds - ¼ tsp
- Onion - 2
- Green chili - 2
- Tomato - 2
- Crushed ginger - garlic - 1 tsp
- Red chili powder - 2 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
- Cumin powder - ½ tsp
- Garam masala powder - ¾ tsp
- Kasoori methi - 1 tsp
- Fresh cream/ thick cream - 3 tbsp
- Oil - 3 tbsp
- Salt - to taste
- Coriander leaves
Method
- Heat oil in a pan, add cinnamon, cardamom and cumin seeds and let it splutter. To this add chopped onion and green chili and saute till soft.
- To this add crushed ginger - garlic and saute for a minute. Add chopped tomatoes and cook till soft. To this add red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder and enough salt and saute till the raw smell disappears and oil appears on top.
- To this add cooked green peas and cook for about 5 minutes on low flame. To this add the sliced mushroom and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Add ½ cup water and cook for 3 - 4 minutes on low flame. (add little more water if u don’t want it to be too thick).add kasoori methi and fresh cream and combine well. Top it with coriander leaves and remove from flame. Serve hot with chapathi or paratha.
