Ginger Chicken

- 1 Cup = 200ml
Ingredients
- Chicken - 1 kg
- Ginger - 3 tbsp (cut to small pieces)
- Green chili - 4 (chopped)
- Garlic paste -1/2 tsp
- Tomato - 4
- Coriander pwd - ¾ tsp
- Roasted cumin pwd (jeera pwd) - 1 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric pwd - ½ tsp
- Chili pwd - 1 tsp
- Red chili flakes - 1 tsp
- Yogurt (curd) - ¼ cup
- Milk - ¼ cup
- Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
- Oil - ½ cup
- Salt - to taste
Method
- Heat oil in a pan, add ginger, green chili and garlic paste and saute till the raw smell disappears.
- To this add the chopped tomatoes .When soft, add coriander pwd, cumin pwd, turmeric pwd and salt. Mix well and cook till there is no water content and oil appears on top. Add the chicken pieces and cook on medium heat for about 5 minutes stirring in regular intervals.
- Reduce the flame and add chili pwd and red chili flakes to this and mix well.
- Mix together curd and milk and add it to the pan and cook covered till the chicken is done, on low flame. Add little water if required. Top it with coriander leaves and serve hot.
