Chilli Mutton Chops - sanaa's recipe
  1. 1 Cup = 200ml
For the marinade
Ingredients
  1. Mutton chops – 350 gram
  2. Red chilli powder – 2 tsp
  3. Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  4. Salt – to taste
  5. Oil – 2 tbsp (for frying)
Method
  1. Marinate the cleaned mutton chops with the remaining ingredients and keep it in the refrigerator covered for about 2 hours.
  2. Pressure cook the marinated mutton chops with ½ cup water.
  3. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and fry the cooked mutton chops for about 5 – 6 minutes turning the sides occasionally (reserve the gravy, in which mutton is cooked).
For the masala
Ingredients
  1. Crushed ginger – garlic – 2 tsp
  2. Onion – 2 (thinly sliced)
  3. Green chili – 2, chopped
  4. Red chili powder – 1 tbsp
  5. Black pepper powder(freshly ground) – 1 ½ tsp
  6. Capsicum – 1, chopped
  7. Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp
  8. Salt – to taste
  9. Oil – 2 tbsp
Method
  1. Heat oil in a pan, add crushed ginger garlic and saute for few seconds. To this add sliced onion, green chili and salt and saute till soft.
  2. Add red chili powder and black pepper powder and saute till oil appears on top. Add chopped capsicum and cook for 2 – 3 minutes.
  3. Add the cooked mutton chops, with the remaining oil in the pan, and the reserved gravy to this and cook covered for about 5 minutes (or thill thick) over low flame. Add coriander leaves and remove from flame. Serve hot.
