Masala Fish Fry - sanaa's recipe
  1. 1 Cup = 200ml
Ingredients
  1. King fish – 4 big pieces
  2. Red chili powder – 1 tsp
  3. Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  4. Lemon juice – 2 tsp
  5. Curry leaves – 6 - 8
  6. Onion – 1 (chopped)
  7. Ginger – a small piece
  8. Garlic – 3 cloves
  9. Whole black pepper – 1 tsp
  10. Coriander seeds – ¾ tsp
  11. Fennel seeds – ¼ tsp
  12. Salt – to taste
  13. Oil – 3 – 4 tbsp ( for frying)
Method
  1. Marinate the cleaned fish pieces with red chili powder, turmeric powder, lemon juice, curry leaves and salt for about 15 minutes.
  2. Meantime, grind together onion, ginger, garlic, whole black pepper, coriander seeds and fennel seeds (add 1 tbsp water if required). Coat the marinated fish pieces with the ground mixture and keep it aside for an hour.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and fry the fish pieces, turning the sides occasionally, till done over medium flame. Serve hot.
