Spicy Yam Fry

- 1 Cup = 200ml
- Yam – 200 gram (cut to thin long strips)
- Red chili powder – 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Cumin powder – a pinch
- Garlic (crushed) – ¼ tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
- Curry leaves – 10 – 12
- Oil – 2 -3 tbsp (for shallow frying)
- Marinate the cleaned yam with red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, crushed garlic and salt for about 10 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and let it splutter. Add curry leaves. Now add the marinated yam to this and shallow fry for about 15 – 20 minutes, till golden brown and cooked well sauting occasionally. Remove from the flame and serve hot.
