Spicy Yam Fry - sanaa's recipe
  1. 1 Cup = 200ml
Ingredients
  1. Yam – 200 gram (cut to thin long strips)
  2. Red chili powder – 2 tsp
  3. Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  4. Cumin powder – a pinch
  5. Garlic (crushed) – ¼ tsp
  6. Salt – to taste
  7. Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
  8. Curry leaves – 10 – 12
  9. Oil – 2 -3 tbsp (for shallow frying)
Method
  1. Marinate the cleaned yam with red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, crushed garlic and salt for about 10 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and let it splutter. Add curry leaves. Now add the marinated yam to this and shallow fry for about 15 – 20 minutes, till golden brown and cooked well sauting occasionally. Remove from the flame and serve hot.
