Squid Roast

Squid Roast - sanaa's recipe
  1. 1 Cup = 200ml
For the marinade
Ingredients
  1. Squid – ½ kg (cut to pieces)
  2. Red chili powder – 1 ½ tsp
  3. Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  4. Curry leaf – 6 – 8 leaves
  5. Salt – to taste
  6. Oil – 3 tbsp (for frying)
Method
  1. Clean the squid and drain the excess water. Marinate the squid with the above ingredients except oil for about 10 – 15 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add the marinated squid and fry it for about 5 – 6 minutes over medium flame. Remove the fried squid from the oil and keep it aside. Reserve the remaining oil in the pan to saute the onion later.
Ingredients
  1. Onion – 2 (chopped)
  2. Green chili – 2 (finely chopped)
  3. Crushed ginger – garlic – 1 ½ tsp
  4. Tomato – 1 (chopped)
  5. Red chili powder – 1 tsp
  6. Pepper powder – ½ tsp
  7. Curry leaves – 8 – 10 leaves
  8. Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp
  9. Salt – to taste
  10. Oil – 2 – 3 tbsp
Method
  1. Add 2 – 3 tbsp oil in the same pan in which the squid is fried. Add the chopped onion and little salt and saute till soft. Add the chopped green chili and crushed ginger garlic and saute till the raw smell disappear.
  2. Add the chopped tomato to this and saute till soft. Add red chili powder and pepper powder to this and saute till the raw smell disappear. Add the fried squid to this and cook for 2 – 3 minutes over high flame.
  3. Reduce the flame and cook till done. Add the curry leaves and coriander leaves, combine well and remove from the flame. Serve hot.
