Crispy Prawns

Crispy Prawns - sanaa's recipe
  1. 1 Cup = 200ml
Ingredients
  1. Big prawns – 15 pieces
  2. Red chili powder – ½ tsp
  3. Black pepper powder – ½ tsp
  4. Salt – to taste
  5. Oil – for deep frying
Method
  1. Marinate the cleaned prawns with the remaining ingredients for 2 hours in the refrigerator.
For the batter
Ingredients
  1. All purpose flour – ¼ cup
  2. Corn flour – 1 tbsp
  3. Baking powder – ¼ tsp
  4. Butter milk – ¾ cup
  5. Egg – 1
  6. Salt –to taste
Method
  1. Combine together all the above ingredients in a bowl and keep it ready.
For coating
Ingredients
  1. Bread crumbs – ½ cup
  2. Black pepper powder – ½ tsp
  3. Onion powder – ½ tsp
  4. Garlic powder – ½ tsp
  5. Oregano – ½ tsp
  6. Dried basil – ¼ tsp (optional)
  7. Salt – a pinch
Method
  1. Combine all the above ingredients in a deep bowl.
  2. Heat oil in a deep pan, dip the marinated prawns in the all purpose flour batter and then coat it with the bread crumb mixture. Repeat the process with the remaining prawns.
  3. Deep fry these prawns in medium hot oil. Reduce the flame after a minute and till the prawns are cooked and turns golden brown. Move it to a paper towel and remove the excess oil. Serve hot with mayonnaise or sauce of your choice.
