Mutton Chops/ Lamb Chops - sanaa's recipe
  1. 1 Cup = 200ml
For the marinade
  1. Mutton chop – ½ kg
  2. Red chili powder – 2 tsp
  3. Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  4. Crushed ginger – garlic – 1 ½ tsp
  5. Salt – to taste
  1. Marinate the cleaned mutton chop with the remaining ingredients for about half an hour. Pressure cook this adding ½ cup of water till it is cooked 3/4th. Keep it aside.
Other ingredients
  1. Cumin seeds – ¼ tsp
  2. Onion – 2 (finely chopped)
  3. Crushed ginger – garlic – ½ tsp
  4. Tomato – 1, chopped
  5. Red chili powder – ½ tsp
  6. Turmeric powder – a pinch
  7. Garam masala powder – ¼ tsp
  8. Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp
  9. Salt – to taste
  10. Oil – 3 tbsp
  1. Heat oil in a pan, add the cumin seeds to this and let it crackle. To this add the thinly sliced onion and saute well. Add the crushed ginger – garlic and saute till the raw smell disappear.
  2. Add the cooked mutton chops (reserve the gravy to use later, if any) to the sautéd onion and fry for about 8 – 10 minutes.
  3. Add red chili powder, turmeric powder and garam masala to this and cook till oil appears on top. Add the chopped tomato and cook till soft. Now add the reserved gravy and cook till thick. Add the chopped coriander leaves and remove from fire. Serve hot.
