Gobi Masala - sanaa's recipe
  1. 1 Cup = 200ml
Ingredients
  1. Cauliflower - 1 (medium)
  2. Cumin seed - ½ tsp
  3. Cardamom - 1
  4. Onion - 2 (chopped)
  5. Ginger - garlic paste - 1 ½ tsp
  6. Tomato - 1 big (chopped)
  7. Red chili pwd - 1 ½ tsp
  8. Coriander pwd - 1 tsp
  9. Garam masala pwd - ½ tsp
  10. Cumin pwd - ½ tsp
  11. Turmeric pwd - a pinch
  12. Pepper pwd - ¾ tsp
  13. Curry leaves
  14. Salt - to taste
  15. Oil - 3 tbsp
Method
  1. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan, add cumin seed, cardamom and curry leaves to it and saute for few seconds. To this add chopped onion and saute till transparent. Add ginger garlic paste to this and saute till the raw smell disappears.
  2. Add chopped tomatoes and saute till soft. To this add all the dry ingredients (ingredients from 7- 12) and saute till the raw smell disappears and oil appears on top.
  3. Add the cleaned cauliflower florets to this and mix well. Add 1/4 cup of water to this and cook covered till done. Add the remaining 1 tbsp oil to this and cook for another 2 minutes. Serve hot.

Note : to clean the cauliflower florets, soak it in hot water adding salt for about 15 minutes.
