Gobi Manchurian - sanaa's recipe
  1. 1 Cup = 200ml
For the batter
Ingredients
  1. Cauliflower - 1 (small)
  2. Flour - 1/4 cup
  3. Corn Flour - 1/4 cup
  4. Ginger - 1/2 tsp
  5. Garlic - ½ tsp
  6. Red chilli pwd - ½ tsp
  7. Salt to taste
for the sauce mix
Ingredients
  1. Onion - 1 (diced)
  2. Capsicum - 1 diced
  3. Green chilli - 1 chopped
  4. Ginger paste - 1 tbsp
  5. Garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  6. Chilli pwd - 1/2 tsp
  7. Soy sauce - 1 tspsp
  8. Tomato sauce -3 tbsp
  9. Red chili sauce - 2 tbsp
  10. Salt - to taste
  11. Oil for deep frying
Method
  1. Cut the cauliflower into small florets.
  2. Make a smooth batter using the ingredients in step 1 adding very little water.
  3. The batter should be neither too flowy nor too thick. It should be dripping consistency.
  4. Heat oil in a pan .Dip the cauliflower florets in the batter and deep fry till golden brown.
  5. In another pan heat oil and add the ginger & garlic paste and green chilies to it.
  6. Stir fry for a minute and then add onion, salt and chopped capsicum. Cook it on high flame for 2 minutes.
  7. To this add chili powder and saute till the raw smell disappears.
  8. Now add soy sauce, chili sauce and tomato sauce to it. Mix well.
  9. Add fried cauliflower florets and toss well. Garnish it with finely chopped spring onions. Serve hot.
