Spicy Fish Fry - sanaa's recipe
  1. 1 Cup = 200ml
Ingredients
  1. Fish - 3 - 4 pieces (I used pomfret fish)
  2. Garlic cloves - `5 cloves (chopped)
  3. Ginger - 1 small piece (chopped)
  4. Coriander seeds - 1 ½ tsp
  5. Pepper corns - 2 tsp
  6. Cumin seeds - ½ tsp
  7. Mustard seeds - ½ tsp
  8. Chili pwd - 1 ½ tsp
  9. Turmeric pwd - ¼ tsp
  10. Salt - to taste
  11. Oil - 1 tbsp (to grind)
  12. Water - 2 tbsp
  13. Lemon juice - 1 tsp
  14. Curry leaves - 5 - 6 leaves
  15. Corn flour - 1 tbsp
  16. Oil - 2 - 3 tbsp (for frying)
Method
  1. In a pan dry roast garlic, ginger, coriander seeds, pepper corns, cumin seeds and mustard seeds (ingredients 2 - 7) for about 3 minutes.
  2. Grind this finely and then add 1 tbsp oil 2tbsp water and lemon juice to it and mix well. To this add chili powder, turmeric powder, curry leaves, corn flour and salt and mix well.
  3. Marinate the fish with this mixture and keep it aside for about an hour.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and fry the fish pieces till done. Serve hot.
