Pepper Fish Masala

Pepper Fish Masala - sanaa's recipe
  1. 1 Cup = 200ml
For the marinade
Ingredients
  1. King fish - 4 big pieces
  2. Black pepper powder - 1 teaspoon
  3. Turmeric powder - ¼ teaspoon
  4. Crushed garlic - 1 teaspoon
  5. Lemon juice - 1 teaspoon
  6. Salt - to taste
  7. Oil - 3 - 4 tbsp (for frying)
Ingredients
  1. Onion - 2, thinly sliced
  2. Green chili - 2, chopped
  3. Crushed ginger - garlic - 1 tsp
  4. Tomato - 1, chopped
  5. Black pepper powder - 1 - 1 ½ tsp (according to taste)
  6. Red chili powder - ½ tsp
  7. Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
  8. Lemon juice - ½ tsp
  9. Curry leaves - 6 - 8
  10. Salt - to taste
Method
  1. Marinate the cleaned fish pieces with the marinade ingredients for about half an hour. Heat oil in a pan and fry the fish pieces till half cooked. Remove the fish pieces.
  2. In the same oil, add the sliced onion and saute till soft. To this add chopped green chili, crushed ginger - garlic, curry leaves and little salt and saute till the raw smell disappear.
  3. Add the chopped tomatoes to this and cook till soft. Add black pepper powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder and saute till oil appears on top.
  4. Add the fried fish pieces and slowly combine. Cook for another 6 - 8 minutes till done on low flame. Add lemon juice all over and remove from flame. Serve hot.
