Pepper Fish Masala

- 1 Cup = 200ml
For the marinade
Ingredients
- King fish - 4 big pieces
- Black pepper powder - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - ¼ teaspoon
- Crushed garlic - 1 teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Oil - 3 - 4 tbsp (for frying)
Ingredients
- Onion - 2, thinly sliced
- Green chili - 2, chopped
- Crushed ginger - garlic - 1 tsp
- Tomato - 1, chopped
- Black pepper powder - 1 - 1 ½ tsp (according to taste)
- Red chili powder - ½ tsp
- Turmeric powder - ¼ tsp
- Lemon juice - ½ tsp
- Curry leaves - 6 - 8
- Salt - to taste
Method
- Marinate the cleaned fish pieces with the marinade ingredients for about half an hour. Heat oil in a pan and fry the fish pieces till half cooked. Remove the fish pieces.
- In the same oil, add the sliced onion and saute till soft. To this add chopped green chili, crushed ginger - garlic, curry leaves and little salt and saute till the raw smell disappear.
- Add the chopped tomatoes to this and cook till soft. Add black pepper powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder and saute till oil appears on top.
- Add the fried fish pieces and slowly combine. Cook for another 6 - 8 minutes till done on low flame. Add lemon juice all over and remove from flame. Serve hot.
