Cheesy Baked Fish - sanaa's recipe
  1. 1 Cup = 200ml
cheesy baked fish
Ingredients
  1. Fish fillet - 3/4 kg (cut it to small pieces)
  2. Onion - 3 (chopped)
  3. Ginger garlic paste - 1 1/2 tbsp
  4. Tomato - 2 (chopped)
  5. Green chili - 5
  6. Chili pwd - ¼ tsp
  7. Pepper - 2 ½ tsp
  8. Chili flakes - ½ tsp
  9. Salt - to taste
  10. Oil - 3 tbsp
White sauce
Ingredients
  1. Butter - 3 tbsp
  2. Plain flour - 3 tbsp
  3. Milk - 250 ml
  4. Pepper - 1 ½ tsp
  5. Cheddar cheese (shredded) - ¾ cup
  6. Salt - to taste
For topping
Ingredients
  1. Bread slices(crumbled)/bread crumbs - 1 ½ cup
  2. Butter - 4 tbsp
  3. Cheddar cheese (shredded) - ¼ cup
  4. Pepper - a pinch
  5. Salt - a pinch
Method
  1. Heat oil in a pan, add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell disappears. To this, add chopped onion and green chili and saute till soft.
  2. Add chopped tomatoes to this and saute till cooked. Add pepper pwd, chili pwd and salt and saute till oil comes out. Now add the fish fillet, mix well and cook till done. Add chili flakes to it and keep it aside.
  3. In another pan, heat butter, add plain flour and cook for about 3 minutes, add pepper pwd and salt to it and mix well. Slowly add milk to it and cook till thick.
  4. Add the shredded cheese to it and mix till well combined.
  5. Add this sauce to the cooked fish and mix well.
  6. Spread it in a greased baking dish and top it with shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Mix together bread crumbs and butter and spread it over the fish mixture. sprinkle a pinch of pepper and salt over it.
  8. Bake it for about 40 - 45 minutes or till the bread crumbs turns golden brown in a preheated oven at 180 degree. Serve hot.
