Paneer Tikka Masala

Paneer Tikka Masala - sanaa's recipe
  1. 1 Cup = 200ml
Ingredients
  1. Paneer - 250 gram (cubed)
  2. Chili pwd - 1 tsp
  3. Corisander pwd - ¼ tsp
  4. Ginger (crushed) - 1 tsp
  5. Garam masala pwd - ½ tsp
  6. Yoghurt - 2 tbsp
  7. Salt - to taste
  8. Oil - 2 tbsp (to stir fry paneer cubes)
Method
  1. Marinate the paneer cubes with the above ingredients except oil and keep it covered in the refrigerator for an hour.
  2. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan, and toast the paneer cubes till light golden brown (turning the sides). Keep it aside.
For gravy
Ingredients
  1. Cumin seeds (jeera) - ½ tsp
  2. Onion - 2, medium (chopped)
  3. Capsicum - 1/2 , cubed (optional)
  4. Ginger - garlic (crushed) - 1 ½ tsp
  5. Coriander pwd - 1 tsp
  6. Chili pwd - 1 ½ tsp
  7. Turmeric pwd - ¼ tsp
  8. Tomatoes - 2, big (grind it to make puree)
  9. Garam masala pwd - ¼ tsp
  10. Kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)- 1 ½ tbsp
  11. Fresh cream - ¼ cup
  12. Salt - to taste
  13. Oil - 3 tbsp
Method
  1. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and let it crackle. Add the chopped onion and capsicum and saute till soft and slightly brown. To this add crushed ginger - garlic and saute for few seconds. Add chili pwd, coriander pwd, turmeric pwd and salt to it and saute till the raw smell disappears.
  2. Add tomato puree to this, mix well and cook it for 4 - 5 minutes. add ¾ cup of water to this and cook till thick. To this add garam masala pwd, kasuri methi and fresh cream and mix well.
  3. Add the toasted paneer cubes to this and mix slowly and cook it on low flame for another 2 - 3 minutes. Remove from fire. Serve with chapathi/ naan.
