Shanghai Chicken - sanaa's recipe
  1. 1 Cup = 200ml
To marinate
Ingredients
  1. Chicken - ½ kg (use boneless chicken if u want)
  2. Corn flour - 1 ½ tbsp
  3. Egg - ½
  4. Salt - to taste
Method
  1. Marinate the chicken in the other ingredients and keep it aside for about 20 minutes. Deep fry it in oil till golden brown. Keep it aside.
Ingredients
  1. Ginger (crushed) - 1 tbsp
  2. Garlic (crushed) - 1 tbsp
  3. Green chili -3
  4. Tomato sauce - 4 tbsp
  5. Soy sauce - 3 tbsp
  6. Vinegar - 1 tbsp
  7. Sugar - 1 tsp
  8. Cabbage (diced) - ¾ cup
  9. Carrot (peeled n diced) - 1
  10. Green peas (frozen) - ½ cup
  11. Spring onion (chopped) - 5
  12. Salt -if required
  13. Oil - 2 tbsp
Method
  1. Heat oil in a pan, add crushed ginger and garlic and saute for few seconds. Add green chilies to it and saute till the raw smell disappears.
  2. Add the sauces, vinegar and sugar and saute for about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the vegetables (cabbage, carrot, green peas and spring onion to it and saute for another 2 - 3 minutes on medium high flame. Add the fried chicken, very little salt (because derv l b salt already in the sauces ) and mix well. Serve hot.
