Chocolate Swiss Roll With Cream Cheese Filling - sanaa's recipe
  1. 1 Cup = 200ml
For the cake
Ingredients
  1. Egg - 3
  2. Powdered sugar - ¾ cup
  3. Vanilla essence - ¼ tsp
  4. All purpose flour - ¾ cup
  5. Cocoa powder - 3 tbsp
  6. Milk - 2 tbsp
Method
  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degree. Grease a n line a swiss roll tin (rectangle shaped pan ) with parchment paper. Keep it ready. Sift together all purpose flour and cocoa powder. Keep it aside.
  2. In a deep bowl, beat together egg, powdered sugar and vanilla essence with an electric beater till it double in size, for about 8 - 10 minutes.
  3. Fold in the sifted all purpose flour - cocoa powder to this slowly. Also add 2 tbsp milk to it and slowly combine. Pour this batter to the lined swiss roll pan and spreads it evenly. Bake it for about 10 - 12 minutes (until springy to the touch).
  4. Lay a damp towel over the work space, top it with a parchment paper and dust it with little powdered sugar. Move the baked cake upside down to the dusted parchment paper. Peel the parchment, used while baking, from the cake and then roll the cake along with the dusted parchment paper. Cover it with the damp cloth and leave it to cool foe about 20 - 25 minutes.
For the cream cheese filling
Ingredients
  1. Cream cheese - 150 gram
  2. Condensed milk - ¼ cup
  3. Powdered sugar - 2 tbsp (add more or less according to ur taste)
  4. Vanilla essence - ¼ tsp
Method
  1. In a deep bowl, beat together the above ingredients till light and creamy.
  2. Unroll the cake slowly when it is cooled completely. Spread the prepared cream cheese filling evenly and slowly roll it again without parchment paper and towel. Cover it with a cling wrap and leave it to set for about 2 - 3 hours.
Ingredients
  1. Cooking milk chocolate (chopped) - ¼ cup
  2. Thick cream/ heavy cream/ fresh cream - ¼ cup
Method
  1. Microwave the cream in a bowl for about 40 seconds to 1 minute, till it starts bubbling. Remove it from the oven and add the chopped chocolate to it and combine slowly till the chocolate melts completely. Leave to cool for about 2 - 3 minutes at room temperature.
  2. Take the cooled swiss roll, remove the cling wrap. Move the swiss roll to a wire rack (place a plate below the wire rack to collect the excess chocolate glaze) and pour the chocolate glaze evenly over the swiss roll. Move it to a serving plate and cool it covered for some time. Slice it and serve.
